Conture started with one question: why does luxury have to be a lie?
Diamond jewelry carries some of the largest markups in retail. The exclusivity is manufactured, the price is largely artificial, and the people who can't drop $2,000 on a bracelet aren't less deserving of nice things — they're just working with a different budget.
The idea
We started Conture after working out that VVS moissanite — a real gemstone that passes standard diamond testers — could be sourced, GRA-certified, and set properly for a fraction of what traditional jewelers charge. Not because it's fake. Because we cut out the middlemen, the markups, and the retail theater.
The result: pieces that read like fine jewelry across a room, certified stones in every box, priced between $59 and $219.
What we won't do
We don't call plated brass "sterling silver." We don't promise a finish will last forever when no plated finish does. Every product page tells you what the piece is actually made of and how to care for it, because we'd rather you know before you buy than find out after.
That sounds like a low bar. In this category, it isn't.
The stone
Moissanite scores 9.25 on the Mohs scale — harder than sapphire. Its refractive index is 2.65 against a diamond's 2.42, which means it bends more light and throws more fire. Every stone we ship comes with a GRA certificate stating its color and clarity grade.
It isn't a diamond. It's better at the one thing people actually want from a diamond, and it costs a fraction of the price.
